Andros Trophy 2021-2022 comes to an end
Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (#1 - Renault Zoé - DA Racing) finally won this 33rd edition. With the same number of points, Yann Ehrlacher (#68 - AS 01 Dupessey - M racing) climbs to second place and Aurélien Panis (#38 - Audi A1 Isère - Saintéloc Racing) takes third place.
A tight podium
After five weekends of racing, three drivers were neck and neck for the championship title. The driver looks back on the competition, not without concealing a touch of disappointment.
A few words from Aurélien Panis
"After an intense season, I finished third overall. The aim was clearly to win a second title, to add to that of the first edition of the 100% electric e-Trophée Andros, in January 2020. This result is still frustrating, even if it is my fourth consecutive year on the podium.
With my team Saintéloc Racing, although we finished five points behind the leader (532 against 537), we still led for a good part of the championship. And we won seven podiums out of the ten races, including a victory in Val Thorens, which is still positive!
You have to accept the hard law of sport. I congratulate Jean-Baptiste Dubourg and Yann Ehrlacher who fought well during this intense competition.
My team will come back stronger in December and we will go for the title again. I would like to thank you for having followed me during this Andros Trophy and I hope that I have given you the desire to continue to follow motor sport. See you next year, with the whole AMEG team, for new adventures.
In the meantime, I'm going to take some time off to recharge my batteries, before starting again for the summer season. In March, I will start my participation in the GT World Challenge Europe with Audi Sport. A different kind of competition awaits me: no more ice or electric cars this time!
