Biathlon: Grenoble's Maya Cloetens starts the season

Maya writes to us today to tell us about her learning and emotional start to the season.

Hello everyone,
I'm back with some good news from the beginning of my season! The first period of competition is already over and has been rich in learning, emotions and firsts.

Senior B World Cup: the IBU Cup circuit

I was able to discover the IBU Cup circuit (Senior B World Cup) in Idre, Sweden, with sunsets at 2:30 pm and beautiful Nordic landscapes. I got my first top 20 and two top 30 in this senior category at the World Cup gate but above all I learned a lot from this first experience against the best internationals. Then, I continued the month of December on the international circuit of the Junior Cup in Italy and Austria (under 22 years old) where the objective was to gain confidence and to go and play ahead.

Objectives met

My objectives were largely achieved as I finished on the podium four times out of a total of five races! These are my first individual podiums at the international level, so I enjoyed them one by one, especially since this first one is shared with the Belgian team for whom these are also the first podiums, so it was a shared joy.

This great regularity on all the races allows me to be today the leader of the junior circuit and gives me a lot of desire for the future!

These unexpected and extraordinary results allow me to obtain my first selection for the World Cup from January 5 to 8 in Pokljuka, Slovenia!

I am also very happy to announce my participation in the World Championships in Oberhof, Germany from February 8 to 12. The goal is to get my bearings on this top level circuit without pressure and without results at stake but with the desire to show the best version of myself. And don't hesitate to watch the live TV on Team 21, biathlon is a thrill!

In any case, the sequel is still full of surprises and very exciting so I say to you very soon.

I also wish a wonderful year to all theAMEG Group team filled with professional and sporting successes!
Happy new year to the AmegSport Team!
